Through our partnership with DISA*, ordering background checks directly through our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) couldn't be more simple. This fully integrated feature allows you to seamlessly select and purchase the background checks you need for your candidates. Here’s how you can do it, step by step:

How to Order a Background Check

1. Selecting a Candidate for Background Check:

  • Navigate to the desired applicant’s listing, click on the “Select Action” button, and choose “Request Background Check” from the dropdown menu.

  • Alternatively, if you’re viewing an applicant’s profile, click on “Verify” and then select “Background Check” from the dropdown menu.

2. Compliance and Service Agreement:

  • Before proceeding, you'll need to accept the Compliance and Service Agreement. This is a one-time requirement per account.

  • NOTE: Please ensure you have a credit card registered with us to facilitate payment for the background checks. If you need to add or update your credit card information, using the Main Menu, go to "Account Details" and click on "Billing Information" to enter your card details.

3. Choose Your Background Check Package:

  • Select the package that best fits your needs from the options available.

4.  Customize Your Order:

  • Choose specific options within the package to tailor the background check according to your requirements.

All fees will be disclosed to you before you complete your order.

NOTE: You can also request expidited processing for an additional fee, but we do not recommend adding it when a Drug Screening is selected. Drug Screenings cannot be rushed and will delay delivery of your rush order.

5. Terms of Service:
  • Read and agree to the Terms of Service to continue with your order.

7. Applicant Authorization:

  • The request for a background check will be sent to your applicant for authorization. Once they complete their part and DISA processes the request, you’ll receive a notification on your Dashboard. Typically, this takes 2-3 business days, although times may vary based on the responsiveness of state agencies.

8. Accessing Completed Background Checks:

  • To view the completed background check, click on the applicant icon in the Dashboard notification. 

  • Then, access the “Restricted Files” tab within the Application Viewer. Note that Account Owners and Admins have default access to these files. You can modify access for other roles through Roles and Permissions settings.

9. Notification Settings:

  • Enable email notifications for managers about completed background checks by navigating to "Account Details", then to "Customize & Design", and finally ‘Notifications’. Toggle the switch to turn notifications on or off.

Dealing with Adverse Action:

Should a background check lead to potential adverse action, you can request an adverse action letter through our system. Simply open a support ticket with the applicant's name and email address, and we’ll confirm and handle your request for a $15.00 fee.
