Sometimes, life happens—people forget their passwords or accidentally lock themselves out of their accounts. No worries! Whether it’s due to too many failed login attempts or simply a brain freeze, you might find yourself needing to reset a user’s password.

But, before you dive in, keep in mind: If your company uses Single Sign-On (SSO), the password reset needs to happen through that external platform, not directly in the ATS. So, if that’s the case, redirect the user to the appropriate system to manage their password.

By default, only the Account Owner or Admins can make changes to account settings. If you need changes but don’t have the right permissions, reach out to your Account Owner or another Admin-level user. Not sure who that is? No problem! Just head to the Support menu on the home page, select Submit Support Ticket, and we'll point you in the right direction!

How to Change a User’s Password

Here’s a quick guide to reset a user’s password in the ATS (for non-SSO users):

1) Navigate to Account Details

From the Main Menu (next to the Home button at the top right), click on Account Details.

2) Go to Manage Users

On the Account Details page, scroll to the Company & Users section and click the Manage Users icon.

3) Select the User to Edit

In the Manage Users section, find the user whose password you want to reset. Click the Edit (pencil icon) link next to their name.

4) Reset the Password
On the Edit screen, click the Reset Password button. Smooth sailing from here!

5) Email Notification

The user will receive an email with a link to reset their password. Once they click the link, they’ll be taken to a page to create a new one.

Important: The password reset link is valid for only 15 minutes, so make sure the user is prepped and ready to act quickly!

Password Requirements:

  • Passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Must be at least 8 characters long.
  • Requires at least one number.
